Winnipeg was lucky to escape the spring storm that had threatened to bury southwestern Manitoba on the weekend of March 23rd. On the morning of the Bronx Park card show, vendors arrived as early as 7:15 to set up their tables.
Doors opened at 9:00 am and card collectors, sports fans, and those that came to browse slowly trickled into the gym.
There was a large variety of sports memorabilia available – football, baseball, and hockey.
There were old cards, brand new cards, and everything in between.
There were veteran vendors, people who had seen many card shows over the years.
And there were first-time vendors.
And there was a row of 5 or 6 tables that had come from Regina just for this card show.
The two autograph guests – Bob Fitchner and Wayne Babych – were fantastic! Not only did they offer their autographs at no additional cost, but they were super friendly and stayed longer than they needed to.
My 3 kids and I had fun playing Pack Wars 2.0 with the people who stopped by to visit with us.
The 3 of them argued over who would be the opponent when our Pack Wars players came in singles.
Kids, parents, and adults all seemed to have a good time.

Photo recap of the show
In case you missed it, here are about HALF of the tables that were set up at the SOLD OUT card show.
I’m posting these pictures so you can get a sense of how much stuff was available! It was well worth the small cost of admission.
The next card show is on Saturday, May 5th at Chalmers Community Centre!
